EUTHANASIA

It’s always a difficult decision to put a pet to sleep. We are here to help you make the best choice for your furry friend. We do not perform behavioral euthanasia's unless all options have been exhausted (exams/labs/xrays/behaviorist/medications/etc). The cost for euthanasia is $50. If you would like to be present, there is an additional $35 fee for the reserved room and IV catheter. New patients or pets we have not recently seen requiring a full examination will incur an additional $35 office visit fee. If your pet has been seen elsewhere recently, please be sure you send us the records via email prior to scheduling. If your pet has not been seen anywhere recently, there may be a possibility we will need to do more than an exam (ie: bloodwork, xrays) depending on what is going on with your pet. We do reserve the right to decline a euthanasia with or without an exam.

You can either bring your pet’s remains home for private burial at no additional charge, or you can have your pet’s remains cremated through Trusted Journey. If you prefer to have your pet’s ashes spread in a beautiful garden in northern Indiana, the cost is $70 for under 100lbs and $100 for over 100lbs. Should you want your pet’s ashes returned to you, private cremation ranges from $150-$275 depending on the pets weight. An appointment is strongly preferred for the comfort of both you and your pet, and to help staff to create the most peaceful environment possible.

To assist you in making the best decision for your terminally ill pet, we have linked below to the HHHHHMM Quality of Life Scale, courtesy of www.pawspice.com and "How do I know when it's time?" courtesy of The Ohio State University Veterinary medical Center. This scale can be a helpful tool in assisting you to make the final call for the gift of euthanasia and provide a peaceful and painless passing for your pet.
